We have Destiny and enjoy it so far. Reading those who have played through it quickly, some of those being professional critics, you find it's getting a kind-of bad rap. I can understand some of their criticisms clearly, but some I think are a bit unfounded - the critic seems to be expecting a game he wants instead of judging based on the type of game it actually is. I just hope both big doors open in The Tower and the rest of the maps open up!! But yeah, it's a shooter with extras. What do you think?

So, I can't believe no visitors here have not played Destiny . . . but maybe not, maybe you're all too busy playing. Anyway, my son found this cool site where the person running it as adding all the story and character info - this is what I gather, anyway. destinygrimoire.com/grimoire-cards.html
I also have a running blog post going, written - before I saw any Grimoire card! - in the style of a journal. It is the journal or diary of a Titan Guardian, a human female named Amenta, with all kinds of info about the game via her personal entries. I hope you enjoy it! >> Destiny's Notebook
Please post your thoughts on the game here. It's an awesome game. I'm blown away by how clear and beautiful the environments are, but when it comes to story and involvement in that way, well, much of that is outside of the game itself and learned from Grimoire cards. At least that's what is happening so far.

Well, I've been keeping up with Destiny's Notebook and have added some cool photos, but I also added a new section to the review I did for the Beta. So, that review now has a "like" and "don't like" part that I'll update as things progress with the game. Maybe I'll add photos here later, too - just get tired of having to add them to Photobucket.
Got some Queen's armor and weapons during the Queen's Wrath timed event, anyhow. I don't do the Crucible, though Quagmire will do that sometimes with my character. In any case, to achieve her highest level you'd have to do her Crucible bounties too, as far as I'm aware.

I've never played Destiny... would really like to at some point. Well, Quagmire stopped playing it a while ago, and I stopped playing it too. I've never been as upset about a game as this one. I believe the company was deceptive before the game came out. They were mum about details of the game - what kind-of game it actually was - and based on the Beta we thought there'd be more to it. We prepurchased it, with DLC codes, but I think it was one of the worst waste of our scarce funds that we decided on. Along with the reason I just mentioned, it became painfully obvious that with the DLC, things were not getting better, but worse, with what type of game Destiny is. It's just a shooter with a fancy exterior, and with the DLC, everything you worked for in the main game becomes worthless. I'm not kidding. Any other game we've had, the DLC adds content to make more gameplay, but with the Destiny DLC, it changes the armor, weapons, everything (currency system, even), so that all the old stuff is weaker and therefore basically pointless. There are fun aspects to the game - that's why I played it as long as I did - but what I did as a player is just "side stuff" and also pointless after a while. If you want to play a shooter, like COD, that has fun attacks, then it might be worth the money; the other aspect is doing extra stuff to show off your armor and weapons. As far as I can tell, this is the point of the game. It's to show off. To me, it's just too expensive to play as a shooter where the main point is to show off. It's just WAAAAY too annoying to PAY for a DLC that negates the $60 spent on the original game, let alone all the time put into it. Quagmire is quite MAD about the game. Bungie's customer service is non-existent,and in the past, one of the answers in the FAQ section was actually false. If you have XBOX, then you'll have less to play than PS users, and Bungie has insulted XBOX users online. I do not trust Bungie whatsoever and do not want to support them any more. Since we bought the package with two DLCs, and since we had input the codes after we bought it, we'll play the DLC when it come out, but otherwise, Bungie will have to change in order for us to buy more from them. They were even into Halloween but ignored Christmas. For a fun shooter that is much cheaper, Garden Warfare is around. I wrote a post about all this, too, if you or anyone else is interested: withchristianeyes.net/2014/12/09/dont-buy-destiny-unless/

^I'm probably not going to buy it. For your above reasons and because I'm simply not as interested in it anymore.
