In this story out of Florida, a family of five becomes homeless and walks the streets until they get help from the Salvation Army. Praise God for employers who begin to get them on their feet, too. Very informative story! Even with a form of rent control there, it's impossible for many families to afford a two-bedroom place. It's far worse where we live, where there is no rent control and people are paying huge percents of their incomes just to pay rent.
It's funny that in Charles "dick"ens' day, the same problem existed. He mentioned it in A Christmas Carol - how families would live outside somewhere, to stay together, rather than at shelters that were for men only and women + kids only. It is like that just about everywhere, including here. One couple in our city lives out of their car so that they can be together. The wife has a mental condition and the husband works - he doesn't make enough to pay for an apt and for her medical bills. And in case you think Medicare would take care of these people, just know that doctors accepting Medicare has steadily declined sine Mambanocare has taken effect (I'm not taking sides about Mambanocare by making that statement, only stating a fact). Medicare as actual healthcare has other issues as well.
ConsumingFire: Glad you all are safe and stuff, and yes praise God! Now you can experience seasons!

Eclair: Well, we all made it to our new home! Praise God we are all safe, and with no speeding tickets! The house has a lot more goofy stuff wrong with it than we thought it would, so more expense . . . But the original house is good
